Environmental and animal ethics

Climate responsibility in spatial terms

Climate change and the question of how to mitigate it are characterised by the complexity of the interaction between different actors, the attribution of responsibility, and the simultaneity of local and global dimensions.

The project brings together the topics of responsibility, spatial theory and climate ethics. The analysis of discourses and practices thus gives rise to a draft ethical framework that goes beyond individual actors and takes spatial contexts into account.

Animal Ethics

How people shape their relationships with animals depends on numerous assumptions, circumstances and orientations. Building on fundamental work on responsibility in human-animal relationships, this project addresses topics such as animal testing, robotic pets and species conservation from an ethical perspective.
