Academic Career

  • Born on February 21, 1975 in Basel/Switzerland
  • June 1994 - Abitur (university entrance diploma) at Schönau High School (Scheffelpreis)
  • 1994-2002 -  Studies of protestant theology in Bethel, Leipzig, Basel, Heidelberg 
  • Research assistant to Prof. Hans Ruh/Basel, Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Welker/Heidelberg and at the research center of sermons of Heidelberg university. Tutor at the department of key skills. Student member of the board for educational topics of the regional church of Baden. Parish assistant of the protestant student parish Bethel.
  • January 2002 -  First theological exam with the protestant regional church of Baden.
  • 2002-2006 -  Doctorate program at Heidelberg Ruprecht-Karls-University;
  • Scholarship of the regional graduate support Baden-Württembrg and the protestant scholarship foundation Villigst e.V.
  • 2003 - Research stay in Washington D.C. doing research in the National Archives and the German Historical Institute (GHI) supported by the DAAD
  • February 2007 -  Dr. theol. (summa cum laude) „Aufbrüche zu neuen Ufern. Der Beitrag von Religion und Kirche für Demokratisierung und Reeducation im Westen Deutschlands nach 1945“ (EVA Leipzig, 2008) in English: („Starting towards new horizons. The contribution of religion and church to the democratization and re-education in western Germany after 1945.“)
  • 2004-2007 - Assigned member of project management for the series of theological main podium discussions at the 30th German protestant church congress in Hannover and the 31st German protestant church congress in Cologne.#
  • 2006-2008 - Education as Pastor in protestant parishes Waldwimmersbach and Lobenfeld
  • Januar 2008 - Second theological exam with the protestant regional church of Baden.

  • Mai 2008 - Recipient of the John Templeton Award For Theological Promise 2008
  • Since April 2008 - Postdoctoral teaching assistant and pastor
  • Work on habilitation project on “Dying, death and finitude from the point of view of systematic theology and  theoretical pastoral care” („Sterben, Tod und Endlichkeit in systematisch-theologischer und seelsorgetheoretischer Perspektive“)
